Isenfir Games Tourney and Demo

Isenfir is once again hosting a small event and demo at Hill Top Winery. It will be Nov 15 from 12 noon until? There will be armored and rapier fighting as well as plenty of gaming courtesy of the Red Mountain Inn. There is no fee for the event but we request you bring a dish to feed 8 or make a contribution to the Isenfir pavilion fund. It is a wet site but no alcohol from off-site is permitted but since it is a winery, there will be wines and meads for sale. The winery will be open to the public until 5 so bring your finery to show off. More info and directions can be found at

Directions to Journey to the Crusades

Directions: Fluvanna County is located between Charlottesville and Richmond, south of I-64.

From East or West: Take I-64 to exit 136-Zion Crossroads/ Rt 15. Go south on Rt 15 about 8 miles, passing through Palmyra village then cross the bridge and turn right on Rt 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway). Pleasant Grove will be about 3 miles on the right. Look for SCA signs.

Alternate from South of Richmond: From I-95 South of Richmond take I-288 to Rt 6 west. Take Rt 6 for about 1 hour to the intersection of Rt 6 and Rt 15 at Dixie, take Rt 15 north for about 5 miles. Turn left onto Rt 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway). Pleasant Grove will be approximately 3 miles on the right. Look for SCA signs.

From Scottsville Area: Follow Rt 6 east. Turn left onto Rt 640 (Haden Martin Road). At the stop sign turn left onto Rt 15 go about 1 mile north. Turn left onto Rt 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway). Pleasant Grove will be approximately 3 miles on the right. Look for SCA signs.

Jamestown 400th Anniversary

Had a great time at Jamestown this weekend! Three days of long hours but they were lots of fun and I'm really glad I got to be part of the big Landing Days events there. Gardiner's Companie made up more than half of the volunteers and there were over 50 total.

Make Your Best way to Exit 220 on I-81: If coming from I-64 (Richmond, C-ville, Tidewater) it's one exit south on I-81.
Note: From this point, you are about 25 minutes from the site.

1. Take exit 220 and follow Rt. 262 to Middlebrook Road Exit.
2. Turn left onto Middlebrook Rd (Rt. 252 South)
3. Follow Middlebrook Rd for 4-5 miles, then take a right onto Smoky Row Road.
4. Travel on Smoky Row Road to stop sign.
5. At stop sign, take a right onto Eidson Creek Rd.
6. Travel a short distance on Eidson Creek Rd. At the next yield sign, take a left onto Glebe School Rd (Rt. 708). Note: Start looking for the turn when you see the “yield ahead” warning sign - it comes up on you fast, and is a sharp turn.
7. Turn right onto Cattleman Rd and travel to Trimbles Mill Rd
8. Turn left onto Trimbles Mill Rd and travel to Boy Scout Lane.
9. Turn right onto Boy Scout Lane and follow gravel road to Camp Shenandoah.
